TAGS: Sources & Notebooks ... and now SmartBooks!

As promised ... It would be great to have Notebooks that linked sources that update at intervals. Maybe a fast diff on each source as it loads? This is definitely a PRO feature 🤓$If you got really fancy you could even have a self updating prompt in these super smart notebooks 📒🙃Shoot ... another one!

The custom config for each notebook is another thing that would be good to have a global and/or folder centric version of. So you could essentially make all of the notebooks under a particular folder speak or process in different ways based on the general topic. Possibly even having sub folders amend to further define specifics of deeper focused topics? I use it with a whole chain of documents that upload automatically whenever engaging them in chat, which is how we maintain persistent context across sessions in one notebook.

So when our friend over in the first comment suggested tagging sources it seemed to me to be that the natural next step is to have the links update (ie. re-parse or create a diff, whichever path NBLM and you take). I was trying to separate the suggestions so you could deal with them in stages, but it feels like it's all one chain. Tags > Source > Notebooks < Tags ^^^---> Other Notebooks So that's a terrible ASCII CAD saying the source could be part of 2 different Notebooks as a link and an Alias to the original link in the first Notebook and since it's a link could they be made to reload at <event> -- like opening the Notebook, or hitting a "resync" link to keep the documents up-to-date as their sources get changed (say in a repo?). So logically, if some files are fixed links it stands to reason some could be depricated and replaced by different or better articles or sites, so the ones that weren't a locked link pointing to the page that we were ust updating as it gets up dated at source, it stands to reason we could rescrape the internet to fill up th context from our original prompt fed to the deep web search we used to fish for supporting material or comparable ideas/products to compare with the originals using the prompt to fire off at some interval we set (eg. by picking 1 x day, 6 x hours, etc), all of that led me back to the tags (the feedback form I wrote these down in disappeared unfortunately). I thought having a "Smartbook" made up of all Blue Tags would be an excellent way to feed all the sources and/or Notebooks of a particular tag label or even tag colour would be great as well. I am in the middle of building a library system that will essentially be the bastard child of Open Notebook and NotebookLM, but until I'm finished it, it would be nice to have the structure of it built in order to have the immediate problems appear by making it happen manually, but tags and labels like Keep but inside our browser feels like it could work? Though I haven't spent any time with Web.Gem lately, so it's been more Warp, Claude, and Antigravity. Tonight we are test piloting as many Agentic tools and platforms that people swear by as possible, so we can make our final build in the coming weeks. We are so far behind on what we set out to.do originally 🤓😂 But then we've gone in a much better direction as a result. Apologies for the confusing banter in the other feedbacks ... that was what amounts to humour when I've had more monster drinks than I likelly should have, but my partner is away while I am catching us up and ... attempting to keep 2-4 kids (at any given moment) ... happy? No. How about keep them from killing each other ;) I'd think that was a win. Hope that helps. Heading back to stress test a bunch of recently updated open source projects that are precariously connected ....

Hey CJ, Thanks a ton for the detailed write-up 😄 A lot of solid ideas in there. Auto-syncing sources are my favorites. Can't promise everything, but I'll see what I can pull off within the extension. I'll try my best 😎 Good luck with your library project!

De nada my friend. We don't own the ideas in the sense that they originate with us. They are the collections of thoughts inspired by other people's works or connected by patterns we see in the tile on our floor or some thing in nature that reflects something we were talking to someone about on a different topic that suddenly connects all these things in a way we didn't see before. It's the journey to the idea's inception and then collaboration with someone better positioned to make it real that is ours to keep. That being said, until we've had our swing at it it's a judgement call about when to "give it away" or keep working on it. I'm happy to support people getting things like this out in this way because I can't reasonably do even 10% of the "good" ideas I have, let alone chase all of them down to figure out which of the 1 in 20 even make it to the "good list" 🤓 I signed up for your pro account to support that way too. Ideas cost time and money ... the better they are the more expensive it seems. That should keep the caffeine flowing for another week hopefully. And thanks. Your project is helping move it along by improving my workflow in some very obvious ways that felt hard to believe they missed but you jumped in to fill the gaps. Champion move! I expect all the Gemini integration back and forth is presenting some intensely cool opportunities for you to further expand your own integrations. Good luck to you as well 🙌🏼
